Prerequisite: EES 2004, EES 2005, MATH 1126. The class provides an introduction to rock forming minerals and a survey of petrological classifications of rocks with an emphasis on hand sample identification, field identification methods, and petrogensis of rocks. The formation of soils and soil chemistry is also introduced.
