Program Description
The Business Administration, P.B.C. program is designed to equip individuals with an undergraduate degree in non-business disciplines with the requisite knowledge and skills to meet the educational requirements for admission to the MBA program. The Business Foundations certificate requires completion of three (3) courses - ACCT 5400, MANG 5400, QMBE 5400 - that provide an in-depth understanding of topics in accounting and finance, management and marketing, and intermediate business statistics.
Program Overview:
The Business Foundations, P.B.C. program is structured to offer a concentrated curriculum in business principles and fundamentals. Individuals can earn a stackable 3-course micro-credential in two semesters. It is tailored for those who aim to transition into professional, managerial, and administrative roles, and who seek to fulfill the MBA program prerequisites without the need for an undergraduate degree in business.
Admission
The Business Foundations, P.B.C. allows anyone with a baccalaureate degree from a regionally accredited institution and who meets the University of New Orleans’s admission criteria to take the three (3) business foundation courses. To earn the certificate, students must first apply for the certificate online and the cumulative graduate GPA for the three business foundation courses taken must be 3.0 or higher. After completing Business Foundation, P.B.C. program, if students choose to apply to the MBA program, they will be unconditionally admitted.
Program Scope
Students enrolled in the Business Foundations, P.B.C. program must take three (3) courses (courses may be completed in any order, together or separately).
