EDUC 3110 - Developing a Student-Centered Learning Environment in the Classroom School of Education
Lecture - Credits: 3
Prerequisite: Admission to the Teacher Education Program. This course focuses on the instructional and behavioral strategies that enable students to engage in collaborative, supportive learning communities. Course topics include challenging teacher’s deficit thinking, building positive relationships with students, socio-emotional learning, trauma-informed teaching, developing culturally responsive pedagogy, responding to intervention processes, and understanding Positive Behavioral Interventions and Supports (PBIS). Field experiences are required for this course.
