ANTH 3095 - New Orleans Public Culture College of Liberal Arts, Education and Human Development
Seminar - Credits: 3
This course introduces students to public culture through the lens of downtown New Orleans. We will begin by considering what the “public” is and how the concept of the ‘public realm’ is an important component of urban life. With this foundation, we will then begin to consider how public were, and continue to be, created in neighborhoods of New Orleans. In the second half of the semester, students will work together to create an event that will be open to the public.
