ANTH 4801 - History of Anthropological Theory College of Liberal Arts, Education and Human Development
Lecture - Credits: 3
Critical and historical study of theories of culture. Historical and contemporary schools of thought and major trends in ethnological theory, along with consideration of seminal theorists. Theoretical approaches in relation to biography, historical era, and sociocultural milieu of theorists, and to the function and purposes of anthropology in Western thought. Successful completion of this course satisfies the general degree requirements for oral competency. (For anthropology majors)
