Prerequisite for FTA-4541: FTA 1620. A history of the development of the cinema from the 1948 Paramount decision until the present day. Emphasis on the artistic, social, economic, and technical phenomena that have influenced the growth of American and international films. Important representative films will be screened and discussed. Two to three hours of laboratory/screening attendance are required per week in addition to lectures.
