Prerequisites: BIOS 2114 ; either BIOS 3453 or BIOS 4153 recommended.
Molecular Biotechnology is a new and exciting scientific field that involves the use of living organisms for industrial processes by transferring genetic information from one organism to another to create useful products. This course will cover wide range of topics that will include genetic engineering techniques, genomics, proteomics, gene expression in prokaryotes and eukaryotes, protein engineering, protein therapeutics, molecular diagnostics, bioremediation, biofuels, transgenic plants and animals, gene therapy and regulation of biotechnology.
