Lecture/Lab - Credits: 4
Prerequisites: Completion of BIOS 2014 and BIOS 2114 with a C or above. The large-scale sequencing of genomes and transcriptomes is revolutionizing modern biology. This introduction to genomics and bioinformatics will teach students how to work with large bioinformatics datasets, a skill that is becoming increasingly important for both biotech scientists and medical professionals. It will also introduce students to the basic pipelines used to process large-scale sequencing of whole genomes and transcriptomes and to extract meaningful biological information applicable to a wide range of problems in agriculture, medicine and evolutionary biology.
Prerequisites/Corequisites: Credit for BIOS 2014 & 2114 with a C or better is required. Grading Basis: Graded Repeatable: N Consent Required to Add No Consent Required to Drop No
