BIOS 4723 - Virology College of Sciences
Lecture - Credits: 3
Prerequisites: C or better in BIOS 2014 and BIOS 2114 , and C or better in at least one BIOS course at the 3000 level. This course will focus on the biology of viruses as well as other acellular pathogens such as viriods and prions with an emphasis on molecular mechanisms for the interactions between viruses and their host cell populations. Replication strategies of the various classes of viruses that infect bacteria and eukaryotes will be discussed. Three hours of lecture.
