BIOS 4213 - Cell Biology College of Sciences

This intermediate-level course Cell Biology will focus on the principal methods and models used to study cells and their molecular components, apply these methodologies to scientific study of several critical cellular processes (cell differentiation, stem cell biology, cellular senescence), and highlight cellular mechanisms underlying major diseases including cancer, Alzheimer’s, and diabetes. This course will also help students develop an ability to summarize, evaluate, and integrate information from textbooks and scientific literature.
Prerequisites/Corequisites: Prerequisite: C or better in BIOS 2114 “Cell and Molecular Biology” or Consent of Department. Grading Basis: Graded Repeatable: No
