Program Educational Objectives
Program educational objectives describe what graduates are expected to attain within a few years after graduation and are based on the needs of the program’s constituencies. Graduates from the Civil Engineering program will:
- Attain professional advancement
- Demonstrate their technical knowledge and skill for management of projects and teams
- Serve the needs of society by working in related field of civil engineering and engaging in professional organizations advancing the civil engineering profession
Graduates from the Bachelor of Science in Civil Engineering program will acquire knowledge, skills, and professionalism as they progress through the program. Upon graduation, our students meet the following student learning outcomes:

Accreditation
The Civil Engineering Bachelor of Science program is accredited by the Engineering Accreditation Commission of ABET, https://www.abet.org, under the General Criteria and the Program Criteria for Civil and Similarly Named Engineering Programs.

Course Requirements for Major
Total Credit Hours Required: 127
Minimum Cumulative GPA of 2.0 for all undergraduate coursework.
- “C” or better required

- 6 credits of Math satisfy listed in general education. Check General Education Courses to confirm what courses fulfill this requirement.

- Electives must be selected from 4000-level courses and must include a minimum of six credits.
- To graduate with a degree in Engineering, the student must satisfy the General Degree requirements of the University.

Program requirements - Some degree programs offer an opportunity to complete a Concentration (C) within the major. Some degree programs require that a Concentration (C) or an Option (OP) be completed as a part of the major.
First Year of Enrollment
- General Education note: The General Education requirement may be met by completing other courses on the Gen Ed menu; however, Recommended courses must be completed to meet degree requirements if not completed as general education requirements and may be prerequisites for other required courses in the degree program.
- The 9-hour General Education Science requirement includes a 6-hour sequence in one science selected from BIOS, CHEM, EES, and PHYS. 3 hours of the 9-hour requirement must be BIOS and 3 hours of the 9-hour requirement must be a Physical Science.
Second Year of Enrollment
