Prerequisite: Credit for or registration in MUS 1105 or equivalent, or by consent of department. Principles of tonal music as exemplified by selected Baroque composers. Emphasis on melody, rhythm, texture, figured bass, functional harmony, counterpoint, dramatic techniques, and formal structures of the Baroque era.
